Raylene B. Olalde is a photo based artist born and raised in Southern California. Raylene has received an AA in both Photography and Humanities at Chaffey Community College. She earned her BFA in Art Photography at California State University of Long Beach.

Her artistic practice applies both archives and documentary, often interweaving through experimental methods like collage, video and textile. Originally created as an online family album, her instagram page @theheriloom_archives puts on view the Mexican-American experience in migration, assimilation and transnational identity. Raylene creates work within San Bernardino County, not only to explore familial connections to the region but also to focus on broader conversations about economic and environmental questions.
