“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” Albert Einstein

I am a lover and educator of ART! I teach Art Appreciation at multiple Community Colleges and I coordinate and install art exhibitions at the Long Beach Museum of Art. As an undergrad at Cal State University Long Beach, I had a dream. My dream was to be up close and personal with artwork and to teach all aspects of it: its history, its meaning and methods, and its significance to our world; and that is exactly what I get to do today. I love it, I breathe it, I live it, and in so doing, I find joy in sharing it with those who take my class.

Ask any student who has taken my Art 100 class about their experience in my class and I guarantee they will tell you how much fun they had, how much they learned about art and how much self confidence they gained. They will tell you it was exciting, interesting, challenging and rewarding. I create many experiences that are new and challenging for my students. All opportunities are created to enhance critical thinking, communication and collaboration. I give my students a personal tour of the current exhibition at the museum where I work, offering a new perspective on museums and art exhibitions. I assign a project that produces personal sharing and bonding and I have my students work in groups, providing an opportunity for teamwork, brainstorming and collaboration.
